PHIL & JIM’S PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
Every parent or carer of a child at Phil and Jim’s School is a member of the Parent Teacher Association. You are invited from day one to participate in the school community in whatever capacity you choose. Whether it be at our regular meetings, volunteering in the classroom, donating treats for cake sales, or organising and/or helping at fundraisers, any way you are able to take part is an asset to the school community.
The PTA Mission Statement is:
Our PTA exists to provide the families of Phil & Jim with fun and interactive social activities that strengthen the relationship between home and school, and build a sense of community amongst all our families. We use these events to fundraise for programs, facilities and activities at Phil & Jim.
Communication is key, and the teachers and staff will utilize the PTA and Class Representatives to distribute information and important reminders to you.
Regular meetings are held with the staff of the school to organize activities, decide on priorities for donation of funds raised by PTA activities, and to discuss topics or issues raised by either staff or parents at the meetings.
The PTA is registered as a charity by the Charity Commission (Registered Charity Number 1121283) and is recognised by HMRC as a charity for tax purposes, including Gift Aid. The committee of the PTA are trustees of the charity, and are appointed by vote at the AGM held in September each year.
Over the past five years the PTA, through fundraising, has raised more than £60,000 for the School.
PTA Committee Meetings are held in the first week of the month, every month during school terms. PTA Meetings are held once a term. If you have any comments, queries or suggestions to be put forward, please contact the committee by email at philandjimspta@gmail.com.
